1. Blue whale
The blue whale is the largest living creature in water one of the world’s biggest animals. This creature can grow up to 100 [30 meters] feet in length and weigh around 200 tons. But to gain so much weight means that it also needs to eat a lot of food.
Unique features of blue whales:
Eating habits: I told you before that the reason they are so big is because of their diet. Blue whales usually eat 4 tons per day during the season. They mostly eat small krill. They can travel up to 8 km per hour. They can travel any distance for their food.
2. African Bush Elephant
The largest animal on earth is the African elephant and a true world’s biggest animals. It grows to a height of 13 feet [4 meters] and weighs approximately 2267 kg.
Unique features of African elephants:
Eating Habits: African elephants can travel 200 kilometers in a single day. On average, they can walk 25 km, but they can migrate more than 100 km during drought.
African elephants can lift large weights with the help of their trunks and can even drink water. These are mostly grouped into families.
3. Sperm Whale (Physeter macrocephalus)
Sperm whale is the largest toothed predator and on of the world’s biggest animals also. Male sperm whales are 67 feet long and weigh 35 to 45 tons. Females can grow up to 40 feet long and weigh 13 to 14 tons. They consume 2 tons of food per day.
Unique features of Sperm Whales:
Eating Habits: Sperm whales prey on large squid. These squids live at a depth of 200 to 1000 meters. These sperm whales hunt even those at that depth. Sometimes they eat octopus and fish. These can last anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes. They go to a depth of 1000 meters for food. They mostly hunt alone.
4. Whale Shark (Rhincodon typus)
This whale shark is the largest of the shark species and on e of the world’s biggest animals. It can grow up to 40 feet long. It has a weight of 20.6 tons.
Unique features of Whale Shark:
Eating Habits: They eat mostly small fish. They find more food in areas with more plankton. Whale sharks use a feeding mechanism, and when they open their mouths for food, small fish and water go inside them, but the filtering mechanism allows them to pass the water out and take in the food.
5. Giraffe
The giraffe is one of the largest land-dwelling creatures. It grows to about 18 feet. It can take its food from large trees with its long neck. They cover 4.5 meters with each step. It can walk at 15 km per hour and run at 60 km per hour.
Unique features of the giraffe:
Eating Habits: A giraffe’s tongue is 18 inches long, so it can reach with its tongue what it can’t reach on its long tongue. It consumes 34 kg of food per day. It is a vegetarian.
